Little Miss Muffet

Little Miss Muffet

This is an original song based on the short 'Little Miss Muffet' nursery rhyme.
The origins of the classic song are unknown but it was first printed in 1805 like this:

Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey;
There came a big spider,
Who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away.

What is a tuffet?
A tuffet is a tuft of grass, more commonly called a tussock. A small footstool can also be called a tuffet, named after the rhyme.

What are curds and whey?
When something acidic like vinegar or lemon juice is added to milk, it separates into solid curds and liquid whey. This can be eaten as a Miss Muffet style snack but is more commonly a stage of the cheese-making process.

This new song is in the style of a relaxing lullaby and includes three more original verses which lead to Miss Muffet and the spider eventually becoming friends.
